Highest-level service design process

My service design schtick post distilled into a simple list:

  1. Goals (required for organizational flourishing) — “To help our organization floyrish, what do we need to achieve?”
  2. Behaviors (required to achieve goals) — “To suceed, what do we need people to do?”
  3. Motivations (required to produce behaviors) — “How do we get people to cooperate?”
  4. Experiences (required to occasion motivations) — “What experience will provide motivation to cooperate?”
  5. Systems (required to deliver experiences) — “How do we make this experience happen?”
  6. Capabilities (required to operationalize systems) — “What do we need to make these systems operational?”
  7. Activations (required to implement capabilities) — “In what order do we develop the required capabilities?”
